Dental work in India
Hi All,
I am sorry that I have been quiet but I have been in India for the past couple of weeks to escape the dreaded weather here in London. I got back yesterday to find that the weather is still as cold as when I left originally.
I should have updated the blog whilst I was in India but the Internet connections are piss poor over there.. they are so third world (no pun intended). The connection which I was connected to was not only slow but of extremely poor quality.. it kepts on falling over and there were some days when you just could not get connected.
However, what was working well was my Blackberry from the UK on Vodafone. Ok, it probably is going to cost a fortune but the mobile network over there for my phone was excellent.. I was getting EDGE for my data connections.. even in some of the more remote villages. In London, the best I get is GPRS!
Anyway, as and when thoughts pop into my head about India, I’ll write them… 2.5 weeks is hard to condense into one post and you know me.. I don’t like to write too much as it’ll just bore the viewers!
My first rant however… India is sooooo cheap compared with ‘rip-off Britain’… even though you’re getting 67 Rupees to the British Pound (when I went in August last year, it was 85 Rupees to the Pound)… things are still a lot cheaper than in the UK. I feel so ripped off in the country!!
For example, to get braces done (the dental kind), I was quote from £2000- £5000… in India, it costs £200 and you get the top of the range ceramic braces. The quality of service was also first world… yep, I went and got it done to fix my wonky teeth! The service was also unrivalled and so accomodating… it was fantastic and I thoroughly recommend it.. if you are serious about getting some dental work in India, let me know and I’ll let you know who I went to! I was thinking of taking a picture of my teeth with their braces but then I thought I may put you off your food so best not!

The picture above shows an Indian street dentist.. no this isn’t the one I went to! haha! I just found this on Google and put it up for fun.. the one I went to was very modern, as good as the ones in the UK (if not better).
